Funds to Assist with Rebuilding Process
CARMEL, Ind. – January 13, 2011 – Community Association Services of Indiana, an Associa company, with the help of Associa Cares, recently donated funds to three local families who lost their homes in separate house fires.
Tessa Ludlum, Sonny Willis and their two children suffered a total loss from a fire that originated from a wall heater in their apartment. While not at home at the time of the fire, they lost everything in the blaze.
Darrius and Shawnta Franklin lost their home in a fire that was caused by faulty wiring. Five family members had to be hospitalized due to smoke inhalation, but all are expected to recover fully.
The Jones family also suffered a total loss after a space heater fire spread to their attic and destroyed their home. The family has since been relocated by the American Red Cross.
With the help of Associa Cares, all three families will be able to begin recovering their belongings faster than originally anticipated.
“We are glad that Associa Cares was able to quickly arrange for this much needed aid and assistance,” said Assistant Community Manager and Associa Cares representative Valerie Atwell. “These families were truly deserving of the help, and we are thankful for the partnership with the American Red Cross to help us identify families in need.”
The partnership helps refer fire clients to CASI for assistance through its Associa Cares program. As a result of their combined efforts, CASI’s Associa Cares program has assisted 20 Indianapolis area families in recent months.
